Modem Reboots
Modem reboots are done when there is a perceived Network issue.
These are some hints that the network may be having issues:
- Web pages load slowly
- Scripter keeps giving connection errors
- The softphone needs to be provisioned multiple times.
- Checkpoint keeps dropping connection (you'll know this happens when Scripter says "This page can't be displayed...")
Note: There is no maintenance that needs to be done to a modem. Maintenance is done by the Internet Provider. We want to reboot it when we see there is an issue. If someone has to reboot their modem often, then it is a sign there is a different issue on the network.
